Fort Henry Building
1324 Chapline Street, Wheeling, WV
The Fort Henry Building was originally designed and built as a Federal Style mansion in the 1850s. Because of its prime location, situated on a prominent downtown corner, the building was later purchased in 1890 to become the home to the budding Fort Henry Club (where it gets its present name). It served as a social club and meeting places until it closed in 2010; thereby leaving the building vacant. The property was acquired some years later and steps were taken to save the building from demolition.
To date, we’ve been successful in attracting 3 tenants; an anchor tenant which occupies the entire second floor, and 2 other tenants who occupy portions of the first floor. Another build-out is underway for an additional tenant.
